Tomorrow: the लृट् future (singular)

लृट्-लकारेण भविष्यद्वार्ता — गमिष्यामि, गमिष्यसि, गमिष्यति।

Talk about tomorrow with the लृट् future in the three singular persons.

श्वः किं करिष्यसि?
 कृष्णः —  मित्र, श्वः त्वं किं करिष्यसि? 
Friend, what will you do tomorrow?  
 गोपालः —  श्वः अहं मातामहस्य ग्रामं गमिष्यामि। 
Tomorrow I will go to my grandfather's village.  
 कृष्णः —  तत्र किं करिष्यसि? 
What will you do there?  
 गोपालः —  नदीतीरे क्रीडिष्यामि, सायं कथां पठिष्यामि। 
I'll play on the riverbank, and in the evening I'll read a story.  
 कृष्णः —  आनन्दः भविष्यति! मम नमस्कारं मातामहाय वदिष्यसि किम्? 
That will be fun! Will you give my respects to your grandfather?  
 गोपालः —  अवश्यं वदिष्यामि। 
I certainly will.  

विवरणम् · Explanation

भविष्यत्कालाय लृट्-लकारः। धातोः अनन्तरम् “इष्य/स्य” आगच्छति, ततः लट्-समानाः विभक्तयः — गमिष्यामि, गमिष्यसि, गमिष्यति। “श्वः” इति शब्दः भविष्यत्कालं सूचयति।

The future inserts ‑इष्य‑ (or ‑स्य‑) between the root and endings you already know from the present: गम् → गमिष्य‑ → गमिष्यामि / गमिष्यसि / गमिष्यति। If you can say गच्छामि, you can say गमिष्यामि। The word श्वः (tomorrow) is your cue.

मुख्यरूपाणि — पठिष्यामि, खादिष्यामि, क्रीडिष्यामि, वदिष्यामि, करिष्यामि (कृ), भविष्यति (भू)। “किं भविष्यति?” इति प्रश्नः बहु उपयोगी।

Build your starter set: पठिष्यामि (will read), खादिष्यामि (will eat), क्रीडिष्यामि (will play), वदिष्यामि (will say), and the two stars करिष्यामि (will do, from कृ) and भविष्यति (will be/happen, from भू)।

वाक्यं रचयतु — “Tomorrow I will go to the city.” Arrange the words.

योजयतु — वर्तमानं भविष्यता सह। Match present and future.

वाक्यव्यवहारः · Use it

श्वः भवान्/भवती किं करिष्यति? पञ्च वाक्यानि वदतु — “श्वः अहं … गमिष्यामि / पठिष्यामि / खादिष्यामि / क्रीडिष्यामि” इति।

Plan your tomorrow aloud in five sentences: श्वः अहं … गमिष्यामि, … करिष्यामि। Then ask someone at home: श्वः भवान् किं करिष्यति?
